After weeks of speculation, it is now confirmed that New York Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. will be inactive for tonight’s season opener against the Dallas Cowboys. Beckham’s status has been in question since suffering an ankle injury during a preseason game on August 21st.
#Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr (high-ankle sprain) is officially inactive. He should be good to go for Week 2, though.

While certainly one of the league’s best receivers, Beckham has not had his best days against the Cowboys. In his six career games against Dallas, OBJ has just 31 catches for 426 yards and five touchdowns. Of course, one of those catches landed him on the Madden 16 cover and was one of the best plays in NFL history.
OBJ’s absence will come in handy for a Cowboys team with question marks in the secondary. They will have new starters and inexperienced depth at both cornerback and safety. The Giants still have weapons in the receiving game, but losing their biggest one is a welcome sight.
