Injury Update: Jason Garrett Clarifies Status of LG Ronald Leary

It appears that the Dallas Cowboys have avoided a major injury to starting left guard Ronald Leary, who exited Sunday’s win in Cleveland during the fourth quarter with a head injury.

With the game well in hand, Leary did not return, as Joe Looney replaced him along the line. It was then reported that Leary would go through the concussion protocol, with little fear that a serious injury took place.

Leary himself even took to Twitter yesterday to update his status following the Cowboys’ win.

Now, just moments ago, Head Coach Jason Garrett definitively addressed the status of one of his team’s unsung heroes this season.

Leary was at the center of plenty of controversy this summer, upset over losing his starting job to second-year player La’el Collins. With Collins now on injured reserve, Leary has filled in perfectly next to Tyron Smith and Travis Frederick – quickly changing how Cowboys Nation members felt about him.

It looks like Ron Leary should be good to go for Dallas’ week 9 game at the Steelers on Sunday. The Space Cowboys will be at full strength, in search of their eighth straight win.
