On August 5th, 2017 we’ll all watch as the Owner, President, and General Manager of the Dallas Cowboys – Jerry Jones – is enshrined in the most elite fraternity professional football offers – the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Ever since the eve of Super Bowl LI we’ve been celebrating this at each and every opportunity because, frankly, being a Hall of Famer is a pretty big freaking deal. Jerry Jones is a man who’s stature is well-deserving of this honor, and it’s a testament to the voters that they recognized his contributions to the game that we all love.
Jerry Jones himself knows a thing or two about evaluating whether someone’s name deserves to be immortalized. Along with the many badges of duties he wears, Jerry Jones has been responsible for determining who goes into the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor ever since he took over in 1989. Joining the Cowboys Ring of Honor is an achievement that stands on its own, being considered one of the greatest to ever play for or be involved with the most coveted franchise in sports.

While on the surface this may seem like a bit of a conflict of interest as Jerry Jones serves as the ultimate decider on who goes in, when it comes to his name things will certainly be more impartial.
“He’s going to have to step down on this particular one. He’ll have to recuse himself and leave it to the other owners of the team and let them make that call.” -Stephen Jones to the Star-Telegram
