Jerry Jones Says Dak Prescott Will Remain Starter

Tony Romo is still getting himself into playing shape and Dak Prescott will remain the Dallas Cowboys’ starting quarterback for at least one more week, according to comments from owner Jerry Jones.

Jones said the following after the Week 8 overtime victory against the Philadelphia Eagles:

“… I was just asked about the next ball game. Tony’s making a lot of progress and we’re excited about that. …My opinion is Dak will start against Cleveland.”

The Cowboys are on the road to face the Browns this Sunday. The following week they will travel to meet the Pittsburgh Steelers. Dallas then comes home to face the Baltimore Ravens before their Thanksgiving Day meeting with Washington.

Despite some early struggles last night, Prescott’s clutch play led the Cowboys to a Romo-like win. His overall play, right down to a game-winning touchdown pass to Jason Witten, was eerily similar to the kind of game Romo had in Week 1 of 2015 against the New York Giants.

The debate between which QB should start rages on in Cowboys Nation. Last night’s game provided plenty of evidence for both sides of the issue.

For now, though, The Dak Prescott Show will get at least one more episode.
