2016 Dallas Cowboys Complete Mock Draft

The 2016 NFL Draft is finally upon us. We have officially started draft week and are now just days away of finally figuring out who the Dallas Cowboys and the rest NFL decide to make members of their football teams. If you are anything like me, you truly enjoy reading different mock drafts and seeing who could possibly become members of your favorite team. You may not always agree with the selection, but that’s one of the reasons that mock drafts are so entertaining. Well, since we are just a few days away I decided to take a shot in the dark and play general manager.

[VIDEO] Ezekiel Elliott Dominates in Zone Blocking Scheme

The Dallas Cowboys offensive line is very good. Ezekiel Elliott, the highly coveted running back prospect out of Ohio State, is very good. Combine these two things together scientifically, and it doesn’t take a notebook full of equations to figure out that the Cowboys drafting Zeke could lead to a dominant ground game in 2016. In the video above, ESPN’s Sport Science breaks down Elliott in his college zone-blocking scheme by the numbers to show how dominant he was. The amazing metrics only further prove what scouts have been saying about the prospect for a long time now, in that he hits the hole quickly and will always be a threat to take the ball to the end zone.

What’s To Be Learned From Cowboys Pre-Draft Visits?

Each year as the NFL Draft approaches the internet becomes flooded with mock drafts and predictions for what each team is going to do come Draft night. Everyone wants that insider information or analysis to figure out who may be joining their favorite team. Sometimes, the information is right in front of our faces, we just have to analyze and accept it. The NFL allows teams to host 30 prospects on official visits prior to draft day. Full lists of which players have and have not visited teams are rarely released, but through various media outlets we have been able to come up with a list of 28 prospects who have visited Valley Ranch so far.

Beyond The Clock: Cowboys Undrafted Wonder, Tony Romo

For our final undrafted wonder of the Beyond The Clock series, we pay tribute to one of the greatest players in NFL history to ever go undrafted. My personal favorite Dallas Cowboy, number 9, Tony Romo. Romo attended the 2003 NFL Combine and although he peaked some scout’s interests, he went undrafted. 13 quarterbacks were drafted in 2003. Four in the first round.

Cowboys on the Clock: Scott Appleton, #4 Overall

Twenty seven days ago, we embarked on a countdown towards the 2016 NFL draft here on Inside The Star. Cowboys on the Clock has taken a look at the most recent first round pick the team has made corresponding to the number of days remaining until the draft. While the number 4 certainly means a lot to Dallas in the upcoming draft, as they will be selecting with the fourth overall pick for just the second time, it did not carry all that much meaning back in 1964. Reason being, the player selected – Texas’ Scott Appleton – never saw a snap in the silver and blue. Scott Appleton Appleton’s rights were traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers following his selection by the Cowboys.
