Preseason Fantasy Football Rankings: Tight Ends

John Williams

Many, including me, overlook the tight end position in fantasy football drafts. They can be big for your fantasy team, or they can be a bummer for your team. I generally look to draft my tight end later in standard drafts, because there is usually someone I’d like to have more.

The Strategy

If you aren’t going to take one of the top 3 tight ends in fantasy football, don’t feel the need to reach to take one. There is a lot of value between 10 and 20 on my rankings. There is top 10 value at the position in the middle to late part of the draft.

Late in the first round you can take Rob Gronkowski, or you can take AJ Green or Dez Bryant. It can be a difficult choice, but I’d rather go with the wide receiver. I need 2, sometimes 3 receivers to fill out my roster and only one tight end.

Tight Ends I like in particular in the 10-20 range. Jason Witten, Antonio Gates, Dwayne Allen, Zach Miller, and Martellus Bennett.
