Randy Gregory: Chance To Move On With Suspension Appeal Victory

Brian Martin

My morning routine usually involves getting on the computer for a little bit and catching up with any news that might have happened while I was asleep. So, it was a rare pleasure to wake up and learn that Randy Gregory won his 10-game suspension appeal.

This is really good news for both Randy Gregory and the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys are in desperate need of help at the defensive end position and Gregory can now return with DeMarcus Lawrence Week 5 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

No one really knows Gregory’s state of mind or what kind of football shape he might be in, since there hasn’t been a lot of news about him since he entered rehab. The only thing we do know for sure is that Randy Gregory is still in rehab.

I think we are all hoping that this is indeed a wake-up call for Gregory. It seems we’ve been down this road before, so I will personally be hoping for the best, while preparing for the worst. I think the Dallas Cowboys would be wise to take the same approach as well, especially after the Rolando McClain situation.

Hopefully Randy Gregory can take advantage of this opportunity and get both his personal and professional life back in order. Despite still facing a four-game suspension, he seems to be heading down the right path at least.

Now, I would like to take Ian Rappaport’s word that Randy Gregory has indeed won his 10-game suspension appeal, but there seems to be some sort of confusion.

Ian Rapoport isn’t known for jumping the gun on these types of things, so we will be following this situation very closely here at Inside The Star and update any news regarding Randy Gregory accordingly.

Update – 11:27 am

Ian Rapoport has released some clarification on his previous reports…
