Fullback Rod Smith is back with the Dallas Cowboys, after being waived last week. Smith, the brother of rookie linebacker Jaylon Smith, has been added to the team’s practice squad.
Also of note: Rod Smith has been added to the practice squad and was at practice today.

Both Rod Smith and Keith Smith were kept on the Cowboys’ active roster at the fullback position to start the season. With Keith Smith establishing himself as a talented lead blocker, as well as a backup LB and key special teams player, Rod Smith’s skill set became expendable.
Smith is still a good piece to have around, as he poses more of a threat out of the backfield with the ball in his hands. Ezekiel Elliott is obviously the prized possession in Dallas’ backfield right now, but decisions will have to be made behind him soon about players like Darren McFadden and Lance Dunbar.
Rod Smith is back at The Star with the Dallas Cowboys, waiting for another opportunity.
