Film Room: Yes, The Cowboys O-Line Is That Good

The Cowboys offensive line has received a lot of praise over the last couple of years. Starting in 2014, when their rushing attack first busted onto the scene, they have been regarded as the best unit in all of football. Sometimes, I think that the boatloads of credit … Read more

Ezekiel Elliott And Cowboys OL Make Deadly Combination

Stating that the Dallas Cowboys have the best offensive line in the entire NFL may sound a bit redundant, but I honestly believe that they will look even more dominant in 2016 now that they have a running back that truly fits the zone blocking scheme. The Cowboys gave their offensive line an early Christmas present when they decided to draft Ezekiel Elliott #4 overall in this years draft. They could have chosen to go with a dominant defensive player with that selection, but they chose to add a player that canĀ  make the strongest position on the team (OL) even stronger. Is Chaz Green Set For a Collins-Like Climb?

The Dallas Cowboys added two offensive linemen in two different ways during the 2015 NFL Draft. First, they shocked many in the football world by drafting Florida Gators offensive tackle Chaz Green in the third round. Then, after the draft had concluded, they signed LSU Tigers offensive lineman La’el Collins as an undrafted free agent. While Green started his 2015 season with hip surgery, Collins immediately climbed up the depth chart, impressing coaches, players, and fans alike en route to his first game action week 2 against the Philadelphia Eagles. During that fateful week 2 showdown which saw the first of two collarbone injuries to Tony Romo, Collins split time with veteran guard Ronald Leary.

Is 2016 Doug Free’s Last Year in Dallas?

Doug Free probably feels like the odd man out at times. When people are effusing praise on the Dallas Cowboys’ offensive line they always mention the three first-round picks; Tyron Smith, Travis Frederick, and Zack Martin. They will also often talk about La’el Collins, the first-round talent who went undrafted due to unusual circumstances. Free may get a token mention as an experienced veteran, but often he is taken for granted. Entering his 10th season, the veteran right tackle is still solidified in his position.
