Ezekiel Elliott: No Tony Romo, No Problem?

“It’s broken.” The collective hearts of Cowboys Nation were shattered into a million pieces as Tony Romo walked into the tunnel at Lincoln Financial Field with his hand on his collarbone as ominous clouds hovered in the air on September 20th, 2015. When word trickled out that Romo had in fact broken his collarbone… the resolve of Cowboys Nation reared its legendary force as hope for the season remained despite the fact that we were, two weeks into a season rich with Super Bowl hopes, suddenly down our offense’s top two weapons (Dez Bryant being injured the week before in a last-second victory over the Giants). “This team will survive until Tony comes back,” was our battle cry.

What Ezekiel Elliott Means to Dez Bryant, Cowboys Passing Game

The year was 2014. The Dallas Cowboys offensive line was absolutely dominating on the field every Sunday, as DeMarco Murray was the benefactor of their stellar blocking. Murray shaped the Cowboys’ identity, pounding out yards on the ground that kept the offensive moving down the field while keeping the Dallas defense on the sideline. Also on the same offense, WR Dez Bryant was having a breakout year – in his contract year – thanks to opposing defenses becoming so preoccupied with Murray. Romo and Bryant added another lethal option to a Cowboys offense that led them to a 12 win regular season.

Cowboys Running Backs: Who’s In? Who’s Out?

The Dallas Cowboys are going to be faced with a difficult decision when it comes to evaluating the running back position and deciding who’s in and who’s out. One of the most surprising selections for the Cowboys in the 2016 NFL Draft was when the organization decided to draft Eastern Michigan’s Darius Jackson in the six round, especially after making running back Ezekiel Elliott the 4th overall pick. If you would have asked me before the draft what position the Cowboys were most likely to double dip in I would’ve probably answered either defensive end or cornerback, but never in my wildest dreams would I have thought the Cowboys would use two of their nine draft picks on running backs. The running back position will be one to keep an eye on throughout the rest of the off-season and it will be interesting to see what the Cowboys ultimately decide to do with all of these RBs. Let’s take a look at the depth chart and try to predict who stays and who goes.

2016 Dallas Cowboys Draft: Gut Reaction

I like to think that during the deliberations in the Dallas Cowboys War Room throughout the 2016 NFL Draft that when a tough decision was on the table someone said, “Go with your gut.” The human belly is capable of making some great decisions when under pressure. I mean, how often do you look back at a decision in retrospect and say to yourself, “I should have gone with my gut.”? My gut is nice and full from this year’s Draft and it has fully digested everything that went on regarding the nine newest members of America’s Team.
