It shouldn’t be a surprise after the showcase he put on last Monday, but we’re still delighted to share that Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 3!

Lawrence’s big night made him the first Cowboy to win the award since fellow defensive lineman David Irving, who got in Week 6 of last season. It is the first time that DeMarcus has been honored by the NFL since his career began in 2014.
Lawrence’s 6.5 sacks so far in 2017 have him leading the NFL, which is probably short of the Super Bowl on many Dallas’ fans wishlists. If he keeps up this pace, DeMarcus will not only be headed to his first Pro Bowl but could start flirting with the Cowboys and even the league’s record books.
Congratulations, Tank!
