The first few weeks of the 2016 season were rough for wide receiver Terrance Williams. A start so rough, that staff writer Brian Martin posed the question “Is Terrance Williams the Most Hated Cowboys Player,” and people mostly agreed.
First, in the Cowboys home opener and only loss of the year, Williams neglected to run out of bounds on a final second reception. The clock then ran out, and the perfect Dan Bailey was not given the opportunity to win the game. 
Then two games later, Williams made a huge catch on a drive that was supposed to put the Chicago Bears away once and for all, only to fumble it away and give Chicago another chance to get into the game.
Since that moment, where all of Cowboys Nation seemed against Terrance, he has risen to the occasion and played some of the best football of his career. Yesterday was no different.
Nearing the end of a tight first half, the Cowboys needed to punch it in for 6 in order to create some separation with Washington. On first and goal, Dak Prescott couldn’t find anywhere to go with the ball, and was flushed out of the pocket to his right.
The came Terrance Williams.
Noticing his quarterback in trouble, Williams retreated for the ball and made a spectacular catch to keep both feet in bounds reminiscent of his big play in Seattle 2 years ago.

While Williams has long been criticized for his “body catching” habits, one area he excels in is his footwork. I honestly have no idea how he swiped both feet in bounds on that play, but thankfully he did it and got the Cowboys a two touchdown lead which they would hold onto for the rest of the game.
Oh, and it got Williams this nickname from fellow receivers Dez Bryant and Lucky Whitehead.
For all the flack that Williams gets from fans, it is always good to see him make plays and quiet everyone for at least a game. Today, even the biggest Terrance Williams hater can do nothing but tip their cap.
