The Dallas Cowboys built up their front 7 on defense in day 2 of the NFL Draft when they selected LB Jaylon Smith at #34 and Maliek Collins at #67. That trend continued in to today, when they used the third pick of the fourth round to select DE Charles Tapper of Oklahoma.

Now, with their first of four 6th round selections, Dallas has addressed the secondary. The Cowboys have drafted Purdue CB Anthony Brown with the 189th overall pick.

Brown adds depth at defensive back for the Cowboys, who could use speed and athleticism at the position. The 5’11” corner ran an impressive 4.35 second 40-yard dash at the Combine, while also turning out 19 reps on the bench press.

Brown may find a home as a special teams player to start his Cowboys’ career, but could quickly earn time in Marinelli’s defensive rotation based on where some analysts had him ranked:

So, as the Cowboys venture towards their three remaining 6th round picks, let’s welcome Anthony Brown to Cowboys Nation!
