The Dallas Cowboys did exactly what they were supposed to do when facing a team that hasn’t won a game in the NFL this season. They traveled to Cleveland to take on a rebuilding Browns team and completely dominated in all phases of the game, coming away with a 35-10 victory.
The Cowboys move to 7-1 and sit alone atop the NFC East division.
I’ll admit, after last week I was little worried that the Dallas Cowboys would come out flat and struggle a little bit against the Cleveland Browns, but I was glad to see that didn’t happen.
It looks as if they have once again found that momentum that escaped them during the bye week, and that is good news now that the Pittsburgh Steelers are the next team up on the Cowboys schedule.

The Good
This Dallas Cowboys team has the perfect mix of veteran leadership/experience with just the right amount of youth movement.
Yesterday against the Cleveland Browns was the perfect example of that perfect combination of youth and experience, but the good news is that it’s the Cowboys rookies who are starting to carry this team.
Dak Prescott threw for 247 yards and three touchdowns against the Browns, and Ezekiel Elliott ran for 92 yards and two TDs on just 18 carries.
We all knew that Prescott and Elliott would have big games, but Maliek Collins and Anthony Brown also played significant snaps as rotational players.
Collins not only registered his first QB sack in the NFL, but his first multi-sack game of his career. Brown on the other hand, may not be making a lot of eye-catching plays, but he has helped solidify the Cowboys secondary as an injury replacement.
It looks like the Dallas Cowboys 2016 draft class might be one of their best in the last decade, but only time will tell.
The Bad
In all honesty, there wasn’t a lot of bad that happened for the Dallas Cowboys yesterday against the Cleveland Browns.
The only thing I could think of was David Irving’s ejection the first few minutes of the game.
There is no doubt that David Irving is a talented player, but he continues to get in his own way, which is one of the reasons why he is not receiving playing time.
I don’t really know what happened between him and Cam Erving, other than there was some kind of fisticuffs going on. Whatever it was, the referees believed that it was bad enough to eject both players from the game.
David Irving is still young player, but he needs to mature as both a person and a player if he wants to be more of a contributor for the Cowboys defense.
The Ugly
Jason Witten is not only the most tenured member on the Dallas Cowboys team, but was one of the oldest, if not the oldest player on the field Sunday afternoon.
Now, we all know that Witten may have lost a step, but you wouldn’t know it by the performance he put on against the Cleveland Browns. He connected with Dak Prescott eight times for 134 yards and one touchdown.
Witten made the Cleveland Browns secondary look ugly the entire game. The good news is that Prescott may have discovered what Tony Romo has known for years… Jason Witten IS a good security blanket to have.
It’s really scary all of the offensive weapons that the Dallas Cowboys have.
