The Dallas Cowboys had Week 7 off due to their bye week, but that doesn’t mean things going on around the NFL didn’t impact them in some way or another.
Honestly, I don’t think the Cowboys bye week could have come at a better time.
This team has been resilient playing through injuries to several of their key players, and coming off the win against the Green Bay Packers there were a lot more members of the team that needed the extra time to rest up.
It amazes me that we’re almost halfway through the 2016 season and the Cowboys look to be one of the best teams in the league.
They are still sitting atop the NFC East division with a 5-1 record, despite not playing this week and have the division rival Philadelphia Eagles up next on their schedule.
This week’s edition of The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly was a little bit more difficult to complete, but finished none the less.
I hope you enjoy.
The Good
About the only good that happened for the Dallas Cowboys in Week 7 is that their bye week probably couldn’t have come at a better time.
There are a lot of players that are banged up and needed a week off from football activities to recover/recuperate.
Tyron Smith, Orlando Scandrick, and Chaz Green are just a few of the players that have had to miss at least one game due to their injuries. All three are probably glad to have a little extra time to recuperate so they can join their teammates on the field.
Morris Claiborne probably benefited the most after suffering a concussion against the Green Bay Packers in Week 6 due to friendly fire from linebacker Sean Lee. The extra days off has allowed him to take his time to get back on the field without having to try to rush through the concussion protocol.
The BadÂ
The bad of Week 7 is without a doubt having to sit through the weekend and not watch the Dallas Cowboys play.
The 2016 season for the Cowboys has been exciting and I don’t know about you, but I look forward to watching them play every week.
I’ve become almost like a drug addict looking for their next fix. I need/want more Cowboys football in my life, and to make it through the week I had to go back and watch a few of the earlier games this season just to make it.
It was tough trying to get through the week without seeing Ezekiel Elliott get closer to breaking Eric Dickerson’s rookie rushing record, or watching Dak Prescott and Cole Beasley make plays in the passing game.
Fortunately, the countdown is on until the Dallas Cowboys face-off against the division rival Philadelphia Eagles. This game can’t get here fast enough.
The Ugly
The ugly of Week 7 was without a doubt having to sit through Sunday and watch the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles win games, hoping all the time that they would somehow lose.
I honestly don’t know which game was more frustrating to watch.
The Giants were fortunate enough to come away with a victory in London because the Los Angeles Rams shot themselves in the foot, especially at the end of the game when they had a chance to score.
The Eagles and Minnesota Vikings game was basically a turnover fest, but the Eagles were able to do just enough to beat the only undefeated team in the NFL.
These games were without a doubt some of the ugliest performances I’ve seen teams put together. But, that should encourage all of us Cowboys fan since we have the Eagles, Giants, and Vikings coming up on the schedule. Hopefully their sloppy play continues.
At least the Washington Redskins lost. Right!?

I think all teams in NFC winning show that the NFC East is again the contending division!!! So knocking off Eagles this Sunday makes it even sweeter being a true Blue Cowboys Fan!!
Yes it will Jeff. Both the Eagles and Giants were lucky to escape with a victory. I don’t think their luck will hold out against the Cowboys though.
