Tony Romo Visits Duke

Patrick Conn

Over the weekend Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo visited Duke University to shoot some hoops or so that is what the media tended to focus on. While yes the photo below will show that he did take the time to partake in a game of “PIG”, that wasn’t the reason he was in Durham, North Carolina.

Romo and head coach Jason Garrett were in North Carolina to learn. Yes they could take a few things away from being in a facility with a winning tradition but they were there to learn from Duke head coach David Cutcliffe. Cutcliffe as some would recall coached both Manning brothers. Cutcliffe was the offensive coordinator at Tennessee with Peyton and Ole Miss as the head coach with Eli.

If Romo took anything away from his time on the campus of Duke University, lets hope that it was about being a better quarterback and not just showing up to watch a game and shoot some hoops. It does look like Romo is making significant progress as shooting a basketball does take a healthy back to do so. For fans who were clamoring about him wearing their gear, it is a gesture from Romo and Garrett since they were at their facilities. This is no different than Johnny Manziel wearing Red Sox gear recently.

  1. cheerleader??? And his players complain about he practices them to hard….come on now….TB got some hate in his heart for some reason…with Tomlin resume it shouldn’t even be question whether he is a good coach or not….I know the real deep seeded issue with TB. We still haven’t forgotten the Reggie Bush and the bucket of chicken comment either.
