The greatest defensive player in the history of the Dallas Cowboys Lilly was there from the very beginning playing on the Cowboys from 1961-1974. The most important part of Tom Landry’s Doomsday defense, it’s impossible to imagine what the Cowboys would look like if not for his contributions. With 11 pro bowl selections and 7 first team all pro selections Lilly was and still is one of the all time great defensive players. One of the, if not the most important parts of the Cowboys first ever Super Bowl win Lilly can never be forgotten and will until the end of time be in consideration for the greatest defensive player in the history of the Dallas Cowboys.
