Top 4 Dallas Cowboys Team Needs Heading Into Free Agency 2014

Guard:

I just knew this was going to be the downfall for the team coming into the 2013 season. I’ve never been a big fan of Mackenzy Bernadeau and I thought Nate Livings should have been cut at the midway point of the 2012 season.

Livings ended up being released and Bernadeau’s play improved after Brian Waters went down for the season. Speaking of Brian Waters, in my opinion he won’t be we wearing a star on his helmet again.

Now let’s go over to left guard.

Ronald Leary stepped up and played well for a guy that has a degenerative knee condition and never played a snap in the NFL. I’d like to see more from Leary this season, but let’s keep an eye on that knee. I’m still not completely sold on what we have in Bernadeau and, in my opinion, we can find someone better for less money.

There’s one position I didn’t put on here, and I’m sure a large number of people would think I’m crazy for not adding it to the team needs. But I think the safety play is going to be a lot better this year because of more experience and an improved pass-rush.

What’s your take on all this? Should CB’s be included here, or what about Safeties?

  1. Complete the o line rebuild. That would give Dallas at least one dominant position group.
It’s downright sad we need lb’s. So many resources spent on trying to solidify that position. BUT , Lee was injured in college and Jerry thought he was getting a steal. It’s his m.o. Carter, just wow. All the athleticism you could want and he just doesn’t seem to care about the game.
A lot of needs on this team. One of them is qb. It’s a dire need at this point. Romo will be 34 when the season begins.

  2. I agree Mensa the o-line rebuild is right there for the taking. You have an opportunity to put out a young, talented core if you can just play your cards right. I’m not afraid to add a lineman in the first round of the draft or add a major contributor from FA.
