Tweet Break: Best of #Cowboys Twitter for Apr. 8th

Sean Martin

What is going on, Cowboys Nation? In terms of America’s Team, although it is the off season, the answer to that is plenty of exciting things! The countdown to the draft is on, as is the one to the start of the preseason!

With that, welcome to our newest form of Cowboys content here on Inside The Star! This article will take a look at some of the best tweets throughout the week provided by fans, players, coaches, and media members that relate to the Dallas Cowboys.

Enjoy, and be sure to follow our very own Twitter account right here @CowboysNation!

In case you needed a good laugh today, we begin with a tweet that should make every Dallas fan turn their heads:

Notre Dame’s Pro Day featured a number of talented prospects like running back CJ Prosise and WR Will Fuller, both of which could be targets for the Cowboys based on their skill sets and the positional needs for this team. While Ronnie Stanley is a great prospect as well, he certainly does not fill a need for the Cowboys – despite what “Football Drafting” wants to tell you.

The Cowboys own the best offensive line in the NFL, and it is laughable to even see them linked to the Titans and Seahawks fronts.

Knowing that the team won’t be needing to draft an offensive linemen with the fourth overall pick, fans can turn their eyes to much more exciting prospects. Jalen Ramsey certainly fits that model, as a dynamic corner/safety hybrid out of Florida State.

He’s become a fan favorite when it comes to who the Cowboys should come calling for on April 28th, but don’t tell that to Jean-Jacques Taylor, who does not see the play making ability in Ramsey.

While Ramsey had just three interceptions in his FSU career, he consistently makes plays like this that jump out from his film immediately:

Any questions? No? Ok, let’s move on.

While we still have a few weeks until we can all get excited about the newest Cowboys’ rookie, the time to get excited about running back Alfred Morris is now! Dallas absolutely stole Morris off of the free agent market, and now we get to look forward to more plays like the one above – especially thanks to this offensive line.

Another guy that has already excited plenty of fans is Byron Jones, who had a tremendous rookie season for the Cowboys in 2015! Rightfully so, he’s enjoying his off season with some fried Oreos. While those are undoubtedly a terrific snack, he may want to pay more attention to his calendar before selling his soul, because guys are already rolling back into the Valley Ranch facilities!

If these last few tweets don’t have you stoked for some Dallas Cowboys football, you should at least appreciate the awesome fan community that is Cowboys Nation. We will get through this off season together, since Cowboys fans are simply the best. Fans of other team’s just can’t relate to representing Cowboys Nation, and must resort to things like this:

Oh yes, our good friends the New York Giants. The very team that, thanks to some epic clock mismanagement by their QB Eli Manning, allowed Tony Romo and the Cowboys to deliver us the team’s play of the year for 2015.

There are 3 NFL teams in New York. One of them is coached by Rex Ryan, the other has gone without a playoff appearance since 2010 (with their last Super Bowl coming in 1968), and the other is the Giants. It appears that Big Blue doesn’t have much to brag about here, considering they also failed to beat out either of the local baseball teams.

Again, we’ll cut NY fans a bit of a break, they just don’t understand what a fan base like ours is capable of.

In fact, their best player, WR Odell Beckham Jr also took to Twitter this week to join in on a thread that ended in some Cowboys hating. The thread began with Cardinals’ DB Tyrann Mathieu and a fan:

When the Cowboys fan dropped some logic on Mathieu as to why the team likely didn’t draft him, Mathieu could do nothing but laugh. The fan referenced Tyrann’s off the field drug issues while also bringing up Byron Jones – who’s play style is similar to Mathieu’s.

OBJ joined in on the laughter and praised Mathieu’s response. The Cowboys didn’t even need Byron Jones (or Mathieu) to slow down OBJ this season in the two meetings against the Giants, as Morris Claiborne locked him down to the tune of 69 yards on 9 catches, none of which went for touchdowns.

We’ll let these guys worry about their own teams until next week. Thank you for reading this first Tweet Break post on Inside The Star! You can find myself on Twitter @ShoreSportsNJ! Also feel free to leave a comment below this article with your thoughts or email me at sean.martin@insidethestar.com.
