The Elite Teams
Four of the five teams in this tier lived up to their preseason billing. Pittsburgh, Green Bay, New Orleans, and Dallas all produced top-10 seasons at several positions. The Arizona Cardinals were limited by quarterback play but still had David Johnson finish as the top scoring RB in pretty much every fantasy football format.
2016 Dallas Cowboys Fantasy Football Results
The Dallas Cowboys produced an elite fantasy season for Ezekiel Elliott as he finished second to Johnson at running back. Dak Prescott finished just outside the top-10 in points per game, but finished sixth in total points.
Dez Bryant likely would have finished in the top-10 had it not been for his early season injury that saw him miss significant time in the first half. Had he played 16 games, his pace would have put him at number 10 in scoring, right in front of Doug Baldwin.
Cole Beasley also emerged as an excellent secondary option in the passing game. Look for this offense to continue to grow.
2016 Pittsburgh Steelers Fantasy Football Results
The Pittsburgh Steelers were so good this season on offense. They had three players finish inside the top-10 at their respective positions in Ben Roethlisberger, Le’Veon Bell, and Antonio Brown.
The Steelers also produced several very useful secondary wide receiver performances and tight end Ladarius Green was productive down the stretch.
2016 Green Bay Packers Fantasy Football Results
The Green Bay Packers started out slow, and despite not having a running game for nearly the whole season, Aaron Rodgers, Jordy Nelson, and Davante Adams were really good down the stretch.
2016 New Orleans Saints Fantasy Football Results
The New Orleans Saints were the New Orleans Saints. Excellent on offense — led by Drew Brees — and bad enough on defense that they had to score a ton to keep up.
One of the biggest surprises of the season was wide receiver Michael Thomas who led Saints wide receivers in targets, catches, yards, touchdowns and led the league in catch percentage. He was an excellent addition for them in the second round this year.
