Growing up as a child watching the Dallas Cowboys, I always had three heroes. Three favorite players. The first one, and my favorite Cowboy ever, Jason Witten, still plays as a tight end for the Dallas Cowboys. The second one is still on the team, only he’s now the backup quarterback, Tony Romo. The third one, DeMarcus Ware, was released by Dallas in March, 2014.
A day later he signed a three-year deal with the Denver Broncos. It was heart breaking for me, and I would say for every Cowboys fan. He was one of the best Cowboys to ever play the game and he’ll be a Hall of Famer one day.
Ware’s contract with the Broncos ends this season, and he’ll be facing the difficult decision between retiring and returning for one last ride. I think it’s very likely he chooses to play another year, or so he suggested the other day on Twitter and Instagram…

Let’s say he decides that it is too early for him to leave the NFL. Let’s say for a moment, that the great DeMarcus Ware wants to play football one more year.
He’ll want another Ring…
One of the main reasons Ware left for the Broncos, is that he wanted to get a Super Bowl Ring, and Denver was one of the best teams in the NFL that year. His wish came true. In his second season there, the Denver Broncos won Super Bowl 50.
Now, his former team is looking to become a dynasty. The Dallas Cowboys are the best team in the NFC (if not the NFL) this year, and it looks like they will be for quite some years now. If DeMarcus Ware wants to play one last season, and if he is looking for a new ring instead of a big payday, then the Cowboys would be a great option.
The Cowboys need a pass rusher
DeMarcus Lawrence, Randy Gregory, and David Irving all give us hope, but they aren’t premium pass rushers yet. Why not bring in DeMarcus Ware to instantly upgrade the team’s biggest problem, the pass rush?
Imagine a 2017 defense with players like Sean Lee, Jaylon Smith and DeMarcus Ware on the same side. Imagine Byron Jones, David Irving and Maliek Collins playing even better football than this year. I can guarantee you that this defense would become a spectacular and a fearsome one.
Maybe he retires, maybe he doesn’t and ends up on another team. But it sure would be amazing to see one of the best Cowboys ever come back for his last season, get a Super Bowl Ring, and retire with his original team while wearing the star.
Would you like to see DeMarcus Ware wear the Star one more season?
