Preparing to enter his third season with the Dallas Cowboys, veteran running back Darren McFadden took to Twitter on Monday night to share the unfortunate news that three family members, one of which being his nephew, were injured in a concert shooting that occurred in his home state of Arkansas on Saturday.
A total of 25 injured are expected to make full recoveries, including McFadden’s relatives Marvell Harris, Wallace Muhammad, and Marquette Muhammad. As Darren McFadden said in his statement on Twitter, he went to Little Rock to be with his family during this trying time.
Thanks everyone for checking in and praying for my family. Just to answer a few questions: pic.twitter.com/QTAF0mbVIR

No arrests have been made following this club shooting. Meanwhile, McFadden’s display of professionalism and compassion for his supporters has never been clearer – traits that have also been evident on the field since his signing from the Raiders to the Cowboys in 2015.
McFadden remained Dallas’ starter in the backfield for just that one season, featured as a once-again consistent play maker with little talent around him. The Cowboys used the fourth overall pick earned from that lost season to “replace” McFadden by drafting Ezekiel Elliott, but Darren remains the projected RB2 and a stable option for the Cowboys moving forward.
