If you ever listen to Jason Garrett’s press conferences, you might notice that he repeats things he’s already said 100 times over. Well, having competition for roster spots is one those things you’ve heard.
After working out for the scouts, coaches and even Stephen Jones, the former Arizona Cardinals halfback Ryan Williams has inked a deal with the Cowboys. Williams will come in competing for time behind starter Demarco Murray.
He was viewed as a very talented running back coming out of Virginia Tech, however, injuries have derailed his career so far. Since being drafted in the second round of the 2011 draft, Williams has played in just five games while dealing with serious injuries to his knee and shoulder.
Dallas now has Murray, Lance Dunbar, Joseph Randall and from reports coming out of the ranch, the ‘Boys also really like UDFA Ben Malena out of Texas A&M.
So make sure you keep an eye on the running back position once training camp starts; it’s now become one of many positions on the team embroiled in competition for a roster spot.
