Many Cowboy fans have pounded the table for years to get Woodson into the ROH. He is the franchise leader in tackles and played a significant role in the Cowboys winning 3 Super Bowls in the 1990s.

After being drafted in 1992 out of Arizona State, Woodson put together quite the Cowboy career:

  • 5 Pro Bowl Selections (1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998)
  • 3 First-Team All Pro Selections (1994, 1995, 1996)
  • 3 Super Bowl Victories (XXVII, XXVIII, XXX)
  • 1,350 career tackles… the most in Dallas Cowboys Franchise History

Woodson will become the second safety in the illustrious Ring of Honor, next to Cliff Harris, and the eighth defensive player. Darren will become just the sixth member from the 90s dynasty to join the Ring. Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, Emmitt Smith, Larry Allen, and Charles Haley (who will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this weekend) are his five teammates already in.

Darren Woodson’s induction ceremony will take place on November 1st, 2015 when the Dallas Cowboys play host to the Seattle Seahawks. The Dallas Cowboys are 5-0 all-time on November 1st.

  1. It really is about time that they got Woodson in the ROH. He was a spectacular safety that we have missed every day he’s been gone. That’s Ring of Honor worthy.
