The football gods simply won’t let Cowboys Nation enjoy a #VictoryPoloMonday. Seven days ago word trickled out that Randy Gregory withdrew his 10-game appeal, and for the second week in a row the Cowboys are facing a setback the Monday following a win.
#Cowboys OL La'El Collins believed to tear ligament in his foot, source said. Out 6-10 weeks. 2nd opinion will determine if he needs surgery

La’el Collins didn’t have the best game of his young Cowboy Career on Sunday Night Football when Dallas beat Chicago 31-17, and now we know why. As an offensive lineman La’el’s job requires him to put a lot of pressure on both of his feet, and since he was unable to that hindered his ability to get proper leverage. Frustrated backup, and seemingly now resumed starter, Ron Leary came in for him after he was pulled when the second half began… and Ezekiel Elliott ran his way to 140 yards on the ground.
#Cowboys OG La'El Collins needs surgery on his foot and will be placed on IR, per source

The Cowboys very wisely chose not to place Tony Romo on IR when constructing their 53-man roster a few weeks ago. Thanks to this decision this makes La’el Collins (who is headed there) a candidate to possibly return around Thanksgiving, but it should be noted that Ron Leary is a very capable starter and that the line as a whole likely won’t regress much if at all.
While it’s definitely easy to feel down in the dumps about the La’el news, he’s both a great player and person, Cowboys Nation needs to keep their spirits high. This team is 2-1, has a very viable replacement in place for Collins (thanks to their own brilliance), and has a date set with one of the worst teams in the NFL this Sunday.
Things are going to be alright. I promise.
