Cowboys Draft: Thursday Recap & Friday Preview

Before we jump into tonight’s draft action I wanted to share my own thoughts about Dallas’ selection of Ezekiel Elliott. Dallas was presented with the choice that I wrote about yesterday; Elliott or Jalen Ramsey? I am glad that Ramsey was on the board so that we weren’t left with any doubts as to which player the Cowboys really wanted. It’s an extra jolt of confidence towards how much Dallas truly thought of Elliott and what they think he’s going to do in their system. I stand by what I said yesterday; Ramsey presented a rarer talent at a position of greater need.

Emmitt Smith Shows High Praise for Ezekiel Elliott

They say you can’t draft a running back in the top 5 anymore. They say the Cowboys offensive line is good enough for any back to run behind. They say Ezekiel Elliott is the most complete running back to come out of college and enter the draft in recent memory, and his services will now be employed to the Dallas Cowboys as they selected Zeke with the fourth overall pick last night. The Cowboys pick last night should have Cowboys Nation jumping for joy, as Ezekiel Elliott will instantly provide a significant boost to the entire team. Click here to read about just how much of an impact the newest Dallas Cowboy could have.

Cowboys Draft: Predicting Day 2

The Dallas Cowboys shocked the masses last night when they decided to draft running back Ezekiel Elliott number four overall, despite defensive back Jalen Ramsey still on the board. Clearly the Cowboys believe that Elliott is a special player, even though the running back position has been devalued somewhat over the past several years. I personally have been on the Elliott hype train from the beginning and was elated when I heard NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announce his name as the Cowboys selection. I even went as far as writing an article yesterday pleading the Cowboys not to draft Jalen Ramsey. I really can express enough how much I love the Cowboys decision to draft Ezekiel Elliott.

Cowboys Running Back Carousel Stops At Ezekiel Elliott

The greatest running back in the history of the National Football League, Emmitt Smith, played for the Dallas Cowboys. A fellow Pro Football Hall of Fame running back, Tony Dorsett, preceded Emmitt as the ball carrier for America’s Team. This is a team with a rich history when it comes to running backs. For a long time all Dallas Cowboys fans have been able to hang their hat on regarding the running back position – is history. In the Tony Romo era, which current Cowboys fans know very well, we’ve had the likes of Julius Jones, Marion Barber III, Tashard Choice, Phillip Tanner, Felix Jones, and DeMarco Murray tote the rock.

How Ezekiel Elliott Improves All Phases Of The Game

As this past week moved along and we inched closer to the start of the NFL Draft, the fight for Ezekiel Elliott seemed like a lost one. All signs seemed to point to Jalen Ramsey, that is, unless the Chargers snatched him first. Instead the Cowboys decided to sort of shock the world with their selection of Elliott at #4 overall with Ramsey still available. It is easy to get excited about the selection of Zeke. Tony Romo, Dez Bryant, and now Zeke Elliott with that incredible Offensive Line in front of them gives this offense a chance to win each and every week.

2016 Draft: NFC East 1st-Round Recap

The first 31 picks (sorry New England) have come and gone in the 2016 NFL Draft. The Cowboys and each of their NFC East opponents have added a player who they expect to be a key cog in their team for years to come. I’ve written a more extensive recap about the Cowboys’ night already. For this article, let’s do a brief rundown of what our division rivals were up to and how it will affect their matchups with Dallas. Eagles select Carson Wentz, QB There was no surprise in Philadelphia’s pick.
