Cowboys 2016 Sophomore Class In Review

I recently completed my sophomore year of college here in New Jersey at Montclair State University. You may have heard me chatting about sports on our campus radio station once a week and seen my Cowboys themed portion of my dorm room. Now home for the summer and … Read more

Follow The Leader: Who Will Be Cowboys Next-Best Receiving Option?

The 2015 season exposed the Dallas Cowboys in ways we didn’t know were possible. Injuries to starting quarterback and leader Tony Romo and star wide receiver Dez Bryant left the Cowboys offense in absolute shambles, with backups and “second-tier” players trying to pick up the pieces. All of … Read more

Dallas Cowboys 2016 Super Bowl Run Starts with Tony Romo

If you’re anything like me… the recent bad news surrounding the Dallas Cowboys has you somewhat bummed about the 2016 season. The Cowboys’ current defense is depleted via suspensions; Rolando McClain added a 10-game ban to a front-seven that already had pass rushers Randy Gregory and DeMarcus Lawrence … Read more

Cutting Rolando McClain Now Does Cowboys No Good

As you have probably already heard, Dallas Cowboys starting middle linebacker Rolando McClain has been suspended for the first 10 games of the 2016 season. This suspension comes on the heels of McClain skipping Organized Team Activities last month, and reportedly coming to mandatory mini-camp out of shape. … Read more

Anthony Hitchens And Matt Johnson Celebrate Holiday The Same

The time period between when mini-camp practices end and training camp begins is arguably the slowest and most worrisome for NFL teams, players, and the fans alike. Just about anything that is newsworthy around the NFL is of the negative nature. This is something the Dallas Cowboys know … Read more

It’s Probably Too Soon to Dismiss J.J. Wilcox

Lately it seems that most in Cowboys Nation have already moved on from J.J. Wilcox. I’m starting to wonder if we’re not being a bit premature. A fourth-year pro and Dallas’ 2013 third-round pick, J.J. Wilcox is assumed to be the odd man out now that Byron Jones … Read more

NFL: 3 Cowboys Super Bowls Coming to YouTube in August

It’s been a rough week for the Dallas Cowboys. The league gave out two suspensions to two Cowboys defensive starters, Rolando McClain and DeMarcus Lawrence, and has already suspended Randy Gregory. This means the team will now be without three projected starters on defense for the first four games. Four games which include pivotal divisional matchups with the New York Giants and Washington Redskins. Understandably, Cowboys fans are frustrated, angry, and, well, pissed-off.

The Pressure is Rising for Cowboys FS Byron Jones

Yesterday, fellow writer Sean Martin wrote a good piece on reasons for optimism for the entire Cowboys secondary. I’m not quite as excited about the cornerback situation as he is, and because of that I wanted to go a little deeper on second-year man Byron Jones. Despite his youth and inexperience, I think he is still paramount to the Cowboys’ defensive success in 2016. All indication is that Jones, who shifted between cornerback and safety as a rookie, will be locked in as the free safety this year. His athleticism and skill set make him prototypical for the rangy, ballhawking “center fielder” that the Cowboys haven’t had since…

Cowboys Sophomores: DE Randy Gregory

Over the past two seasons, the Dallas Cowboys defense has amassed a whopping 59 total sacks. For perspective, the 2014 Buffalo Bills had 54 sacks on their own and the Denver Broncos Super Bowl 50 winning pass rush had 52 this past season. The need to put pressure on opposing quarterbacks has been evident in Dallas for a long time, and their most recent big investment towards fixing this has already turned himself into an unstable question mark for 2016. Randy Gregory was the Cowboys second round pick in the 2015 NFL draft. The front office put a lot of trust in the troubled pass rushing product out of Nebraska, and are now facing the reality of playing without Gregory for the first four games of 2016 after another failed drug test led to his suspension.
