What a week the Dallas Cowboys are having. Dez Bryant has rightfully (wrongly?) stolen all of the headlines, as the injured superstar wide receiver is looking like he’ll be sidelined this Sunday in San Francisco – after missing out on multiple medical treatments and team meetings earlier in the week.
Some potential good news actually came from an unlikely source with the Cowboys this morning however, as reports surfaced that Randy Gregory has been receiving continued treatments in the wake of facing a longer ten game suspension – already clean for the past four months.
While this is great news for Gregory in an attempt to resurrect his career in Dallas, we now know officially that these efforts will be for the 2017 season.
#Cowboys DE Randy Gregory’s 10-game suspension is now official. He’s out a total of 14 games. Back on Dec. 19.

The ten game suspension added onto Gregory’s initial four games is now official, and the Cowboys will be without his services until at least week 16 – if at all. While they likely weren’t expecting much from the second-year player in 2016 anyway, the Cowboys have to be concerned about the hole he has left in the depth chart at right defensive end – where Benson Mayowa has failed to impress, and DeMarcus Lawrence may have to fill in coming off of his own suspension in week 5.
For now, Cowboys Nation can only hope that Gregory gets the continued help he needs, and can become an impact player in 2017 for the Dallas Cowboys. For the rest of the team, it is on to San Francisco – with a mission to get to 3-1 on the season.
Game day can’t get here soon enough.
