CURRENT: Ezekiel Elliott, Darren McFadden, Alfred Morris, Keith Smith (FB)
While he certainly wouldn’t come until the later rounds, a rookie could easily find work in Dallas this year. While Elliott and McFadden appear set as the top two, and Keith Smith is looking good in the fullback role, the rest of the depth chart is in flux.
Dallas floated Alfred Morris earlier this offseason as trade bait and got no bites. They likely want to shed his contract for $1.6 million in cap relief after a lackluster 2016 performance. However, their only other option under contract would be the inexperienced Rod Smith.
With Lance Dunbar leaving in free agency, Dallas no longer as a speedy, receiving-threat guy in their RB group. That could be what the look for if they add a RB at all in this draft.
