Rapid Reactions: Romo finds Witten to Improve to 1-0

Sean Martin

Hello Cowboys Nation,

Feel free to exhale now. Week 1 has left us with a ton of takeaways, mostly spurred by Chip Kelly’s spread offense. While the NFLN hype train picked the Eagles to hoist the Lombardi in Santa Clara, Tony Romo found Jason Witten to send the Cowboys to Philadelphia at 1-0.

Meanwhile, Eli Manning and the Giants’ caught a few breaks on the way to a 16-13 lead after three. Dominating time of possession and failing to take the lead, a veteran needed to step up.

Neither team went without their shakeups on the injury front, as the Cowboys will regroup to face Kelly and the Eagles on the road. Randy Gregory will likely miss significant time, as he looked sharp off the edge working against rookie Ereck Flowers.

Until then, I’ll watch a highlight reel of Odell Beckham Jr. in warmups, because that’s the next time I’ll see him make a play in the end zone!
