Schefter: Mike Jenkins Signs One-Year Deal With Raiders

Bo Martin

Last night ESPN Analyst Adam Schefter reported that former Cowboys cornerback Mike Jenkins had agreed to a one-year deal with the Oakland Raiders.

Jenkins was a first round pick for the Cowboys who played a physical man-to-man style.  While he flashed glimpses of solid potential, he was constantly plagued by injury.

In 2012, while Jenkins was rehabbing a shoulder injury, the Cowboys signed Brandon Carr and drafted Morris Claiborne.  Those moves seemed to seal the fate of Jenkins in Dallas and it became known that he was going to be allowed to pursue free agency.

Jenkins played 71 games with the Cowboys recording 161 tackles, 43 passes defended and eight touchdowns.

Jenkins will join a depleted Oakland Raiders secondary.  He’ll get a chance to start and we all wish him the best!
