Tweet Break: Best of #Cowboys Twitter for May 27th

Sean Martin

Every Friday here on Inside The Star, I bring Cowboys Nation the best of what was from the week on Twitter. Today’s edition is somewhat of a special occasion, as it is the last such post we will have for the month of May!

This only means one thing, and it’s that we are inching closer to the next important dates on the Dallas Cowboys calendar – marching towards training camp, the preseason, and a shot at redemption when it matters the most in the 2016 regular season.

Of course, this last week of May hasn’t gone by quietly at all, as the Cowboys were indeed back on the field for OTAs. With that, let’s enter the Twitterverse and look at some of the best from the silver and blue.

For all of the attention first-round pick Ezekiel Elliott has gotten this off season, let’s begin with some appreciation for the Cowboys 34th overall pick. For draft nerds like myself, this pick was just as appetizing as the 4th overall selection, and it became a noteworthy one when Dallas spent it on Notre Dame LB Jaylon Smith.

While Smith is likely an investment for the future, a bright and healthy future for Smith with this team could lead to Rod Marinelli getting an absolute stud to utilize as a tackling machine for his defense.

So, once again, welcome to the Dallas Cowboys’ Mr. Jaylon Smith.

A player that needs no introduction, but is certainly welcomed back in a big way for the Cowboys, is QB Tony Romo. It should put a smile on every fan’s face that Tony is out here throwing with the guys (and handing the ball to Elliott) as he gets healthier every day.

And, since I teased you, here is Romo testing out his offense’s shiny new toy in Zeke Elliott:

We’ve now mentioned Romo and Elliott on the offense, which leaves us at Dez Bryant. Bryant’s fiery spirit was already in full display on the practice field and in the locker room as he anticipates a healthy season from himself along with his quarterback:

Now that we’ve gotten a decent fill of our favorite Cowboys back in the star, let’s wrap up this special edition of Tweet Break by giving a shout out to some other Cowboys’ players we look forward to seeing in action!

Here is what some of them took to Twitter to say about their return to the field –
