Its been a while. The last time I authored a new edition of Tweet Break here at Inside The Star was on January 1st, for – you guessed it – Tony Romo’s last game and touchdown pass as a member of the Dallas Cowboys. Today, we’re back with more on the Cowboys legend, as this morning’s retirement announcement from Tony Romo unsurprisingly drew quite the reaction from Twitter.
It might not be possible to sum up Tony Romo’s Dallas Cowboys career in 140 characters, or even with some of the great pictures and videos circling the Twitterverse, but this collection of such tweets might come close.
A Personal Note on Tony Romo’s Retirement

This isn’t the place for me to give you a lengthy monologue on what Tony Romo has meant to me, but I did of course take to Twitter to add to today’s main event, briefly summarizing the only Cowboys’ QB I’ve ever know’s retirement from football.
National Recognition for Tony Romo
On an even cooler note, Tony Romo has received plenty of love on a national scale for an incredible career that has come to a close all with one team. The same type of love that Cowboys Nation has poured into Romo for a decade is being displayed by the NFL themselves on Twitter in recognition…

Tony Romo was one of the best undrafted players in NFL history.

Tony Romo will go down as one of the @dallascowboys greats!

The Peace of Mind That Tony Romo Provided
Change is a weird thing, particularly at the QB position in the NFL. However, a change of quarterbacks for the Cowboys in 2016 resulted in their first 13-win season since 2007.
Dallas started 10 QBs from '00 until Romo's first start (102 gms) and produced 9 passer ratings of 110+.
Romo had 10 in first 22 starts.

Prior to this transition to Dak Prescott though, Tony Romo put a strong end to changes at QB for Dallas that were for the worse. For many, including myself, Romo was the only QB that America’s Team’s fans knew – we wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.
Tony Romo’s Brilliance By The Numbers
This is the legacy that @tonyromo leaves behind. 1 of the most under-appreciated players EVER. An all-time great. #ROH #HOF #ThatsMyQB pic.twitter.com/XHQ36pF1sS
— Jordan Ross (@CHQ_Jordan) April 4, 2017
Jordan Ross is the king of Tony Romo stats on the Twitter streets, and so naturally he put together this definitive list of numbers that summarize his greatness with the Cowboys.
When paired with this incredible stat from our very own RJ Ochoa, Tony Romo’s career – one that transcends numbers so far – is brilliantly put together with some key stats.
Tony Romo NEVER played a game for the #Cowboys where he was mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. He always gave them a chance.

More Fan Reactions on Tony Romo
If you fail to recognize Tony Romo as a great QB because he was a "choker" or "not clutch," I'll probably never respect your opinion.
— Cameron DaSilva (@camdasilva) April 4, 2017
One of the things I'll always be appreciative of is how much fun the Cowboys were to watch with Tony Romo at quarterback.
— Marcus Mosher (@Marcus_Mosher) April 4, 2017
Fully enjoying the Tony Romo era in Dallas was special. While not enough people took the time to do so (for whatever horrific reason), an audible and tight-knit group of Cowboys fans certainly did. These fans banded together out of a mutual respect for a legendary player.
If you weren't appreciative of Tony Romo, then I question both your football intelligence and general intellect.

Tony Romo.
Unwanted UDFA to statistically one of the greatest QBs ever.

Tony Romo Retirement: What is Next for the QB?
https://insidethestar.com/tony-romo-set-to-join-cbs-as-no-1-color-analyst/
Tony Romo will retire into broadcasting and join CBS on their coverage of the NFL, along with possibly March Madness and The Masters. This was apparently a partnership with Jim Nantz that Romo will make that has been discussed for a long time, and now in completion Tony can join this list of former Cowboys QBs to enter the broadcasting booth in retirement – with Troy Aikman of course still at FOX.

Cowboys Nation will always appreciate you, Tony Romo.
