Joshua Dobbs, QB, Tennessee
I’m one of those people that like to draft a developmental quarterback just about every year in hopes of finding someone that can contribute. That is why I selected Joshua Dobbs with the first of the two seven round draft picks that the Cowboys have at their disposal.
Joshua Dobbs has a skill set similar to Dak Prescott, but is highly inconsistent in his play. He has the athleticism and speed to be a threat as a mobile QB. He has a strong arm and can make all the throws in the NFL, but he needs to clean up his footwork and technique to become a more accurate passer.
Dobbs will need time to develop, but he could become a starting caliber QB in the NFL or at the very least a good backup. The Cowboys aren’t known for developing young quarterbacks, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t keep trying.
