Morris Claiborne only played in seven games this season before suffering a groin injury that knocked him out the rest of the year. It looks as if he is set to return to the field this week against the Green Bay Packers and the timing couldn’t be more perfect.
No disrespect to Brandon Carr, Anthony Brown, and Orlando Scandrick, but Claiborne is the most talented cornerback the Dallas Cowboys have when he is healthy.
I fully expect Claiborne to not only play, but play a lot with the way the Packers like to employ multiple receiver sets. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see Claiborne shadowing either Randall Cobb or Devante Adams, especially with Jordy Nelson not playing due to the rib injury he sustained last week against the New York Giants.
The Cowboys secondary know what Aaron Rodgers is capable of with the way he is able to extend plays, so Claiborne’s return to the field could be the difference maker that shapes the outcome of the game.
