Your Dallas Cowboys Defense

In my sometimes humble opinion, the Dallas Cowboys defense was not as bad as people would have you think. Yes, they only sacked Eli Manning twice. Two sacks by the Dallas Cowboys isn’t so bad against a team that gets the ball out quickly.
Of quarterbacks who attempted at least 400 passes in 2015, only six quarterbacks were sacked fewer than Eli Manning. He had the 3rd lowest sack percentage at 4.2%, behind Ryan Fitzpatrick and Ben Roethlisberger.
This week, the Dallas Cowboys face the Washington Redskins and quarterback Kirk Cousins.
Kirk Cousins played well against the Dallas Cowboys in 2015. In both games, he completed more than 70% of his passes and didn’t turn the ball over. He was sacked a combined three times in the two games.
The running game is not as much of a concern. Matt Jones and Chris Thompson only totaled 47 yards on 11 carries. While that is a good yard per carry average, they abandoned the run early. Matt Jones hasn’t been the most efficient back in his career.
I don’t like this matchup this week. They will be looking to get on track offensively after stalling out against the Pittsburgh Steelers in week one.

Yes, Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles beat the stink-o Cleveland Browns defense. But I’m with Hue Jackson… it was one game.
The Chicago Bears had two sacks, forced a fumble, and one interception against Brock Osweiler and the Houston Texans.
Now the league is getting game film on the rookie. I think the Chicago Bears will have a solid game plan to disrupt Wentz and force some turnovers.
Flawless Forecast: 10 points against, 4 sacks, 2 interceptions.
One to Sit
Houston Texans vs Kansas City Chiefs

The Houston Texans defense had a really good day against the Chicago Bears on opening day.
They combined for five sacks, one fumble recovery, and one interception.
This week they face the Kansas City Chiefs, who are a much better offensive team than the Chicago Bears. They are limited by Alex Smith’s inability to get the ball downfield. Because they get the ball out of Smith’s hand quickly, it limits the amount of pressure opposing defenses can put on the quarterback.
I believe in Andy Reid as an offensive coach. He will come up with a good game plan to combat the Houston Texans pass rush.
