Cowboys Trade for Running Back Christine Michael

Per Adam Schefter and league sources, the Cowboys have traded a conditional 2016 seventh round draft pick for Seattle running back Christine Michael.

This comes after the team was unwilling to trade a draft pick outright to add a back to the roster.

The conditions of the trade have yet to be released, but if Joseph Randle and Darren McFadden live up to expectations than it is likely the Cowboys will hold onto their draft pick.

Here is what you need to know about the Cowboys new back:

Michael was a second round draft pick for the Seahawks in 2013 out of Texas A&M. Dallas recently parted ways with former Aggies back Ben Malena.

In his two years in Seattle he has amassed only 52 carries, rushing for 254 yards.

However, Michael can provide the physicality that the Cowboys currently lack at the position. Coming out of college, he was described as a north and south runner with surprising speed.

That should bode well behind the Cowboys’ offensive line.

The Cowboys added three potential first round talents in the 2015 draft, and now have added a second round talent at little to no cost. Welcome to the team, Christine.
