The Irritating Irony of Backup Quarterbacks

Backup quarterbacks in the NFL are like the airbags in your car; you’d love to go your entire life without ever seeing the airbags deployed. If you’re like me, you sometimes find yourself wondering if they would even work properly if needed. We spend a lot of time talking … Read more

Cowboys Sophomores: OL Chaz Green

Collectively, Tyron Smith, La’el Collins, Travis Frederick, Zack Martin, and Doug Free make up the dominant offensive line for the Dallas Cowboys – the pride and soul of this football team. When Jason Garrett and the Cowboys committed to building this unit, they did so with a run of first round picks that has established Dallas’ identity for years to come. However, the Cowboys are going to have to be smart about the way they go about building the sustainability of this offensive line. While most of the guys mentioned above are set in stone, the backups currently on the roster will all be fighting for their spots come training camp. One such player is Chaz Green, who was drafted in the third round by the Cowboys in 2015.

Jerry Jones Named NFL’s Most Important Person

How many of you have ever entered the Disney Store at your local mall? There are characters everywhere, classic songs on the speakers, and an ambiance that makes you feel like you’re standing right inside of the Magic Kingdom. If you’ve indeed set foot inside one of these establishments then you know that the visual isn’t complete without a child dragging his Mom or Dad across the store, pleading for the newest toy on the shelves. Disney is one of the most powerful corporations in the world, flexing their muscles even via the tiniest of human beings. Jerry Jones is like Disney.

NFC East Position Outlook: The Safeties

The NFC East position group outlook is coming to a close. Each and every position group in the NFC East has been discussed so far, besides one, the safeties. Sure, safeties and cornerbacks are normally combined into one “grouping” called the secondary, but I decided to split them up and discuss them separately. Without any more delay, let’s take a look at the free and strong safeties this division has to offer. Dallas Cowboys Cowboys safety play over the past few seasons has been inconsistent, to say the least.

Ronald Leary Trades In His Pads For A Suit

Sometimes being a passionate sports fan isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. We often times get ourselves worked into a frenzy over the slightest little thing, and this may especially be true for fans that try to soak up anything and everything related to the Dallas Cowboys. How many times have we heard people get extremely upset because Tony Romo was spotted playing golf? The fact that people get so upset because someone is spending their time off playing a relaxing game of golf is kind of ridiculous, if you think about it. But that’s the criticism that sometimes comes with being a professional athlete.

Cowboys Offense: What Training Camp Has In Store

Several fierce battles are ahead for the 2016 Dallas Cowboys training camp. Typically, a team’s most anticipated position battles center around spotlight roster spots, but this Cowboys team is either already set or has their bed made in all the most high profile positions. The quarterback position is set in stone. Tony Romo is the starter. However, if someone comes along and breaks that stone, much like Tony Romo’s clavicle in 2015, then Cowboys fans could be looking at yet another dismal rotation of sub-par signal callers.

Cowboys Training Camp Starts With 17 Players On The Bubble

About a week ago, I attempted to project the Dallas Cowboys 53 man roster before the team even had one day of training camp practice. Although these projections are entertaining, they’re not very factual. That’s because there’s really no way to predict what the coaching staff is thinking, or how individual players will perform during these practices. All of the Staff Writers here at Inside The Star try our best to provide our readers with the best news and analysis possible in relation to the Dallas Cowboys. One of the ways we do that is to bounce ideas off of one another to try to come up with new or different information that hasn’t been written about over and over again by anybody else covering America’s Team.

Cowboys Sophomores: LB Mark Nzeocha

If Dallas Cowboys fans know one thing about Defensive Coordinator Rod Marinelli, it is that he specializes in taking unproven players with desirable traits and molding them into contributors to his defense. One player that fits this mold is second-year linebacker Mark Nzeocha, who’s rookie season was unfortunately cut down due to an injury suffered during his final collegiate season. The 2015 seventh round pick was forced to practically “red shirt” the season, only participating in the off season walkthroughs and the other mental aspects of the game. Now ready to contribute on the field this season, Nzeocha finds himself being thrown into the fire when it comes to competition at the linebacker position. The Cowboys are deep across the board here, with Sean Lee being the only true locked-in starter.
