D-E-Z: Bryant Meets Spelling Bee Co-Champion Nihar Janga

When I was a young whipper snapper I used to be a pretty picky eater. To be honest, not much has changed. My Dad started a special tradition in my family when he told me that he’d give me a dollar for every new food that I tried. Broccoli, asparagus, and all sorts of other icky things became my friend. Motivation works, kids.

Cowboys Mini-Camp: Day 2 Takeaways

Yesterday here on Inside The Star, I took a look at the Cowboys first day of mini camp and shared some of my thoughts and analysis on what fans were able to view on the team website. The second day of Dallas’ camp practices got underway yesterday as well, with Bryan Broaddus and David Helman bringing more great footage and commentary to DallasCowboys.com. Click here to watch along while reading my thoughts on day two of Dallas Cowboys mini camp: Cole Powered Chemistry The entire offense for the Cowboys is designed around Tony Romo, who’s return to the practice field has boosted the overall chemistry of the unit.

Cowboys Mini-Camp: Dez Bryant’s Recovery Benefits Young Wide Receivers

Sometimes an injury to a specific player can be a blessing in disguise. That player has to miss important time on the practice field and it gives other players the opportunity to step up and receive extra repetitions, hopefully developing a bond with their teammates. That is exactly what the Dallas Cowboys are hoping with their top wide receiver Dez Bryant not practicing during organized team activities (OTA’s) and mini-camp practices. Fortunately though, all signs point to Bryant being on schedule with his recovery from off-season foot and ankle surgery. With #88 on schedule to be ready to participate once training camp officially kicks off, all the others receivers on the roster need to realize that they need to start taking full advantage of every practice rep they receive if they want to contribute in 2016.

NFC East Position Rankings: Tight Ends

We are a little over halfway through the NFC East position group rankings, with our Dallas Cowboys in the “lead,” with three wins out of the first five groups. Now we move to tight ends, a group which the Dallas Cowboys have dominated in over the last decade, but are beginning to fall behind the pack. Dallas Cowboys Like I said, the Cowboys have had Jason Witten since 2003. So they are used to being on top of the tight end category in the NFC East. However, the tide is beginning to turn as Witten ages and the younger Cowboys tight ends have yet to step up.

Darren McFadden Injured: 3 Surprising Cowboys That Could Benefit

I used to be a huge fan of the popular TV show Grey’s Anatomy. I say used to because I no longer am. At its peak the show had some insane drama that sucked me in. This was pre-DVR so I watched this bad boy live. Ultimately I gave up on it, like most of the show’s iconic actors coincidentally, because it became too unreal.

Cowboys Mini-Camp: Day 1 Takeaways

The Dallas Cowboys took the field yesterday for the first day of mini camp, with familiar faces on both sides of the ball like Tony Romo, Tyrone Crawford, Morris Claiborne, and Ezekiel Elliott – who have all been at every team practice this summer. Unfamiliar faces like Rolando McClain and Ronald Leary also arrived to Valley Ranch, where the practices are now mandatory. Head Coach Jason Garrett took to the podium and started off a day that would mostly be negative for the Cowboys though, as he announced the injuries to RB Darren McFadden and DE Benson Mayowa. Click here for more on the current status of both players.  The not-so-great day continued for the Cowboys when the helmets went on for practice.

Ezekiel Elliott The Returner: Crazy Good, Or Just Crazy?

Finally! After weeks of the post-draft lull and continued offseason, football is now on the horizon. Yes, real football. It’s close, oh so close. The Dallas Cowboys opened up their Mandatory Mini-Camp at Valley Ranch yesterday, and there was no shortage of news, nor excitement.

Will Darren McFadden’s Injury Cost Him His Job?

The Dallas Cowboys kicked off their mini-camp practices yesterday and the good news is that they nearly had perfect attendance, including a couple of players that decided to skip organized team activities (OTA’s) earlier this off-season. Disgruntled offensive guard Ronald Leary asked for a trade from the Cowboys earlier in the off-season after learning that he will most likely be regulated to backup duties in 2016, but despite his trade request he was in attendance for the mandatory mini-camp. Linebacker Rolando McClain also made an appearance for the kickoff of these mini-camp practices after he decided to skip OTA’s in order to deal with some family issues back in Alabama. The attendance of these two players is encouraging because despite their status on the team, both players are valuable to the organization whether as a backup or as a starter. Unfortunately, it seems every time there is some good news, there is some bad news to accompany it.

Mini-Camp Injury Update: Darren McFadden and Benson Mayowa Out

For the Dallas Cowboys, the start of mini-camp was supposed to be a relatively exciting time. Cowboys Nation was eager to cross off another item on the checklist that will lead up to the 2016 season. While the now-mandatory practices will still closely resemble the light OTA work the Cowboys were doing, the team was also planning on slowly accumulating the likes of Dez Bryant and Orlando Scandrick back onto the football field. This morning, Dallas received even more good news, as Rolando McClain and Ronald Leary reported to practice. By the early afternoon though, the day had taken a sour turn for Jason Garrett’s squad.
