Fantasy Football: Preseason Wide Receiver Rankings – Week 3

John Williams

The Wide Receiver position is deep in Fantasy Football in 2016. Many drafters are going heavy at wide receiver in the early rounds, but there is a lot of value to be had in the middle to late rounds as well.

Risers

Terrance Williams is a player on the rise for me. From all indications, he’s had a really strong offseason. Improved blocking, route running, and finishing on the catch have led many to believe that this will be a breakout year for Williams. I’m a believer.

The Houston Texans’ Will Fuller has been a hot name since the draft as someone who could line up opposite DeAndre Hopkins and flourish. A deep threat at Notre Dame, Fuller is already making his presence felt with the first team. In week two of the preseason he played 90-percent of first team snaps. He led the Texans with four catches for 73 yards and a touchdown.

Fallers

Nelson Agholor of the Philadelphia Eagles has been struggling. He has not had a very good training camp. Because of his struggles, the Eagles traded for wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham. Green-Beckham is still really raw, but has tremendous upside.

NFC East

For the Washington Redskins, not much has changed with the top of their wide receiver totem pole. Josh Doctson may start the season on the PUP list after struggling most of the offseason with an achilles injury.

Jordan Matthews remains only one of two Philadelphia Eagles that I am interested in drafting. The rest of the bunch looks like it’s in trouble, offensively.

In New York, Victor Cruz has suffered a setback, leading many to speculate he might be done, or at the very least, the new Miles Austin. Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard remain the top two choices there, with Shepard’s average draft position rising of late.
