Darius Jackson, Cleveland Browns

We should all be familiar with Darius Jackson. He spent the majority of the 2016 season on the Dallas Cowboys active roster before they ultimately decided to release him in order to activate Darren McFadden. At the time I thought it was an unwise move on the Cowboys part to release Jackson, but a possible reunion between the two isn’t out of the question.

The Cleveland Browns decided to pick up Darius Jackson off of waivers, but he is definitely not guaranteed a roster spot when they get down to their 53 man roster. At best, Jackson is third on the depth chart behind Isaiah Cromwell and Duke Johnson, which could play right into the Cowboys hands.

Jackson is an exceptional athlete and has a rare combination of size, speed, and explosiveness. He showed flashes of all of this a year ago in the preseason as a member of the Dallas Cowboys. He is also a reliable receiver out of the backfield and is more than willing to do the dirty work on special teams.

The Dallas Cowboys should already know all they need to know about Darius Jackson, so they could be monitoring his situation closer than any other RB on this list. Of course, they could’ve released him last season because they saw all they needed to.

I for one would be on board if the Cowboys were able to bring him back into the mix. I think he needs more time to develop, but his untapped potential and ability to play special teams would allow him that time, especially as an RB3.

Do any of these RBs make sense for the Dallas Cowboys?
