Darren McFadden: Could the Cowboys Trade Him?

“Congratulations, Darren McFadden! You were the 4th-leading rusher in the NFL in 2015. Now you’ve lost your starting job and may not even be a Cowboy in 2016! Thanks for playing!” The NFL can be cruel, and perhaps no player on the 2016 Dallas Cowboys will feel that … Read more

Surprise Cuts: 5 Cowboys Battling For Life After Camp

Last week I took a shot at determining who the Dallas Cowboys might keep on their final 53 man roster, and that started me thinking who could possibly be the surprise roster cuts that we have to say goodbye to. Year in and year out, we have to say goodbye to players that we were hoping would be able to make an impact with the team and this year is no exception. Sometimes, these players are veterans that have been with the team for a while or they are rookies, but having to say goodbye to them is sometimes a little hurtful. Below are some of the players that I could see the Dallas Cowboys having to say goodbye to before the 2016 season gets underway. J.

Tweet Break: McFadden’s Mess, Mini Camp Motivation, and Eagles Gon’ Eagle

Last week on Tweet Break, we took a bumpy ride through some offseason tweets that made us laugh and smile, but most importantly, they made us miss Dallas Cowboys football. A new edition of this series here on Inside The Star can only mean that we are closer to watching the silver and blue on Sundays though! On top of that, we have an awesome collection of tweets this week to get through. Let’s get to it, Cowboys Nation! McFadden’s Mess One of the most notable events of the week was the unfortunate injury suffered by the Cowboys “starting running back,” Darren McFadden.

Darren McFadden Injured: 3 Surprising Cowboys That Could Benefit

I used to be a huge fan of the popular TV show Grey’s Anatomy. I say used to because I no longer am. At its peak the show had some insane drama that sucked me in. This was pre-DVR so I watched this bad boy live. Ultimately I gave up on it, like most of the show’s iconic actors coincidentally, because it became too unreal.

Will Darren McFadden’s Injury Cost Him His Job?

The Dallas Cowboys kicked off their mini-camp practices yesterday and the good news is that they nearly had perfect attendance, including a couple of players that decided to skip organized team activities (OTA’s) earlier this off-season. Disgruntled offensive guard Ronald Leary asked for a trade from the Cowboys earlier in the off-season after learning that he will most likely be regulated to backup duties in 2016, but despite his trade request he was in attendance for the mandatory mini-camp. Linebacker Rolando McClain also made an appearance for the kickoff of these mini-camp practices after he decided to skip OTA’s in order to deal with some family issues back in Alabama. The attendance of these two players is encouraging because despite their status on the team, both players are valuable to the organization whether as a backup or as a starter. Unfortunately, it seems every time there is some good news, there is some bad news to accompany it.

Mini-Camp Injury Update: Darren McFadden and Benson Mayowa Out

For the Dallas Cowboys, the start of mini-camp was supposed to be a relatively exciting time. Cowboys Nation was eager to cross off another item on the checklist that will lead up to the 2016 season. While the now-mandatory practices will still closely resemble the light OTA work the Cowboys were doing, the team was also planning on slowly accumulating the likes of Dez Bryant and Orlando Scandrick back onto the football field. This morning, Dallas received even more good news, as Rolando McClain and Ronald Leary reported to practice. By the early afternoon though, the day had taken a sour turn for Jason Garrett’s squad.

6 Cowboys Players That Could Be Traded

This past week, news broke that the Dallas Cowboys turned down trade opportunities during the NFL Draft for a couple of their running backs. Also, former starting left guard, Ronald Leary, decided to skip OTAs and have his agent request a trade from the Cowboys. Players requesting a trade isn’t uncommon, but teams aren’t going to just give away their players. They want to get as much compensation as possible, but it often comes down to finding a trade partner that is willing to meet your asking price. Trades aren’t quite as commonplace in the NFL as they are in the NBA and MLB, but they still happen.
