3 Reasons Why Tony Romo Will Thrive In 2016

First off, let me tell you that I personally believe that Tony Romo will have an amazing year in 2016 and that despite his recent struggles with injuries, he will once again get the Dallas Cowboys back on track and in contention of making a deep playoff run. If you paid any attention to the 2015 season, you noticed first hand just how important Tony Romo is to this team. He is the heart and soul of the Dallas Cowboys and without him in the lineup the entire team takes a giant step back. Below I decided to share with you three reasons why I personally believe Tony Romo will thrive in 2016 and have the Cowboys once again sitting atop the NFC East division. Now, you may be a little skeptical about Romo’s chances due to circumstances out of his control, but I believe I have a pretty good argument as to why that skepticism might be a little unjustified.

Draft Film Review: Cowboys QB Dak Prescott

For the majority of this Draft Film Review series, I have followed the order which the Cowboys drafted. Meaning, I reviewed the players drafted in the first four rounds before I reviewed those taken in the sixth. In the case of fourth round selection and former Mississippi State Bulldogs Quarterback Dak Prescott, however, I decided to wait until the end. I did this for a few different reasons. First of all, I find him to be possibly the most intriguing of all the Cowboys rookies.

Dak Prescott & The Rarity of QB Investment in Dallas

Last Saturday the Cowboys spent a fourth-round pick on quarterback Dak Prescott from Mississippi State. You already knew that it was uncommon for Dallas to invest draft picks in the quarterback position, having only done it once (Stephen McGee, 2009) since Tony Romo became our starter in 2006. But do you realize just how far back that tradition goes, and just how rare it’s been for Dallas to draft a passer? In 1989, the Dallas Cowboys made Troy Aikman the first overall pick in the draft. It was the first pick of Jerry Jones’ ownership of the Cowboys.

Dallas Cowboys: Backup Quarterback Still A Concern?

The 2015 season for the Dallas Cowboys was a complete disaster and the majority of the blame can be placed squarely on the backup quarterback situation. Once Tony Romo went down not once, but twice with a broken clavicle, we pretty much knew that the season was on the line. Who was actually comfortable knowing that Brandon Weeden was a backup behind Romo heading into the 2015 season? I know I wasn’t. I thought it was an absolute mistake by the organization.

[VIDEO] Mississippi State Reflects On Cowboys QB Dak Prescott

During my musings for Inside The Star I enjoy to have something on Netflix in the background. Typically it’s something that I’ve seen before so that it’s not too distracting. Lately I’ve been re-watching the greatest show in Texas history… Friday Night Lights. It’s a Texas Forever disposition that FNL preaches, and such is the case for the Dallas Cowboys who bring glory and pride to the Lone Star State.

Cowboys Should be Happy to “Settle” for Dak Prescott

The 2016 Dallas Cowboys draft class is here, and it covers just about everything we expected it to. After their premier fourth overall pick was used on running back Ezekiel Elliott, a move that will help Dallas dominate time of possession and keep the defense off the field, the bulk of the team’s remaining picks were spent on stacking that very defensive unit. Jaylon Smith and Maliek Collins highlighted the 2nd and 3rd rounds, and three of the four picks the Cowboys had in the fourth round also went towards the defense. Defensive end help was provided by Oklahoma’s Charles Tapper, while Anthony Brown and Kavon Frazier helped secure the secondary. However, there is one fourth round pick that went towards the offense, and that is what I am here to talk about.
