6 Cowboys Training Camp Battles To Watch

The Dallas Cowboys are now just a few days away from starting training camp and every time these practices kickoff I start to get the feeling that the season is almost here. The practice is finally fully padded, the tempers are flaring, and the trash talk is running … Read more

Follow The Leader: Who Will Be Cowboys Next-Best Receiving Option?

The 2015 season exposed the Dallas Cowboys in ways we didn’t know were possible. Injuries to starting quarterback and leader Tony Romo and star wide receiver Dez Bryant left the Cowboys offense in absolute shambles, with backups and “second-tier” players trying to pick up the pieces. All of … Read more

The Assumed Backup: Moore & Williams Both Getting Benefit Of Doubt

In a recent appearance on Cowboys Cast, I discussed the Dallas Cowboys’ stability at the Wide Receiver position with host Bobby Belt. Bobby said that he felt the receiving corps. didn’t take as much flack for 2015 as maybe they should have. It’s a fair point when you consider that the Cowboys, entering the season as supposed Super Bowl contenders, fell flat on their faces to the tune of a 4-12 record. Now to be totally fair to everyone the absence of both Tony Romo and Dez Bryant certainly influenced things in a negative manner.

Is Terrance Williams Ready To Fight For His Job?

The Dallas Cowboys will have a lot of position battles that will be interesting to keep track of throughout the remainder of the off-season. One position battle that I know I will be keeping a close eye on will be at wide receiver. There is a lot of speculation that Terrance Williams might get demoted if Brice Butler steps up his game the way a lot of people are expecting. Butler showed quite a few flashes in 2015 that he can be a valued member on offense, but he also struggled with reoccurring injuries throughout the season. I’m actually looking forward to see what Butler can do with a full off-season with the Cowboys organization and hopefully a better chance to develop a bond with quarterback Tony Romo.

Tweet Break: Best of #Cowboys Twitter for May 27th

Every Friday here on Inside The Star, I bring Cowboys Nation the best of what was from the week on Twitter. Today’s edition is somewhat of a special occasion, as it is the last such post we will have for the month of May! This only means one thing, and it’s that we are inching closer to the next important dates on the Dallas Cowboys calendar – marching towards training camp, the preseason, and a shot at redemption when it matters the most in the 2016 regular season. Of course, this last week of May hasn’t gone by quietly at all, as the Cowboys were indeed back on the field for OTAs. With that, let’s enter the Twitterverse and look at some of the best from the silver and blue.

Terrance Williams: Ready For A Resurgence

Dallas Cowboys fans go through a lot of trends over time. For a while, there was a loud crowd which yelled for Tony Romo’s head and wanted for the team to start over and rebuild, beginning with a change at the quarterback position. Then came the “Jason Garrett claps too much” crowd, who criticized Garrett’s robotics on the sideline and during post-game pressers. This offseason, however, has seen an incredible rise in the “I hate Terrance Williams” fan club. It makes sense.

Terrance Williams: Could This Be His Last Year in Dallas?

In the 2013 NFL Draft, the Cowboys traded down in the first round with the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a third round pick. The Cowboys used that pick to select Terrance Williams out of Baylor University, 74th overall. Williams was selected with the intention of complementing Dez Bryant as a WR2. While Williams can make some great plays, he’s also blown just as many, dropping easy passes, several on third-down. With both Brice Butler and Terrance Williams’ contractual clock’s winding down, it would make sense to give both opportunity for one of them to earn a long-term extension at the end of the upcoming season.

Draft Day Anxiety for Cowboys Roster

During the 2012 draft, then-Cowboys cornerback Mike Jenkins was participating in a local draft party. When Dallas’ selection of Morris Claiborne was announced, Jenkins was reportedly upset and left sullen for the rest of the night. Cowboys on the Clock: Dez Bryant, #24 Overall

The best receiver in the 2010 NFL Draft, Dez Bryant surprisingly slid down the board on draft night. The Broncos passed on him at #22 overall in favor of Demaryius Thomas, and two picks later the Dallas Cowboys saw an opportunity to add their new #88. With the … Read more
