#5. Travis Frederick, C
Although he flies a little bit under the radar, Travis Frederick is one of the most important players the Dallas Cowboys currently have on the roster. That is why they signed him to a 6-year, $56.4 million contract, making him one of the top paid centers in the NFL.
I could even argue he might just be the most important offensive lineman the Dallas Cowboys have on their roster, and that’s saying a lot.
Travis Frederick is one of the best at what he does in both the passing and running game. He keeps the pocket clean for QB Dak Prescott in the passing game, but also helps open up running lanes for Ezekiel Elliott.
In the zone blocking scheme the Cowboys employ, the center is asked to secure a lot of reach blocks and get to the second level and block linebackers. Frederick in my opinion is the best at doing this in the entire NFL.
If he were to miss any length of time due to injury, it would dramatically change the entire offense, and not for the better. There simply isn’t another player on the Cowboys roster that can do what he can do.
