2017 Dallas Cowboys: Ranking Top 5 Most Indispensable Players

#1. Dak Prescott, QB

To say the Dallas Cowboys lucked into finding their future signal caller in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, is an understatement. Dak Prescott not only came in and replaced one of the best QBs in franchise history for the Cowboys (Tony Romo), but he ended up having one of the best rookie seasons by a quarterback in the history of the league.

With Tony Romo’s retirement, this is now without a doubt Prescott’s team and they will live and die by how well he performs. Like it or not, that’s just the way things go when you play the quarterback position in the NFL. They unfortunately have to shoulder the blame no matter how the rest of the team performs.

Luckily, Prescott is a big/physical QB that is built to take the pounding he will receive game after game. He also has the added benefit of playing behind arguably the best offensive line in the entire NFL, who paved the way for the best rushing attack in the league.

To put things bluntly though, if Dak Prescott misses any amount of time, this team is doomed. As things stand right now, Kellen Moore is his backup. Although he is a solid backup QB, the offense won’t function nearly as well with him in the lineup.

Do you agree or disagree with my 5 irreplaceable Cowboys players?

  1. I agree, maybe you should write about the 5 most indispensable players on special teams/defense since this batch was all offensive…my 5 on defensive/special teams…the GOAT Jeff Heath, Sean Lee, Dan Bailey, Chris Jones and Byron Jones

  2. I agree especially with the Zeke pick & can’t see the cowboys going anywhere without this guy, he can score from anywhere on the field, a block here, there,& it’s good night Irene.

  3. for me it’s a toss up @ # 3 between Dez,Beasley,& Witten. for last season it would have to have been Beasley.
