5 Free Agent DEs Cowboys Could Target To Improve Pass Rush 1As a Dallas Cowboys fan, I’m sure you’re familiar with JPP. He has been a thorn in the Cowboys side for years now, but it looks as if he will hit the open market this off-season.

I’ll be completely honest and say that I would only be on board with JPP signing with the Cowboys if the price is right. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem like that is going to happen, because it has been reported that he is looking for a 5-year, $80 million contract.

I don’t think he is anywhere close to being worth that type of money. He’s probably just feeling a little left out after seeing what the New York Giants invested in their defense last off-season.

He would definitely be an upgrade over what the Cowboys currently have on the roster, but at 28 you don’t really know how much he has left in the tank. He only started 12 games this season and finished with just seven quarterback sacks.

The Cowboys can probably find that kind of production with a lower-priced free agent or with a rookie through the draft.
