Dallas Cowboys: Mocking The Remainder of the 2013 NFL Draft

Bo Martin

2013-draft-logo-storyI’m going to keep this short and sweet for you guys.  There is a ton of work to be done all over the draft and that means we fans are going to be on the edge our seats all night.

After last night, twitter fans and draftniks blew up at the selection of Travis Frederick.  The past is the past though, and the Cowboys must trust their board and move on.

So with three picks this evening, the Cowboys will have a chance to do heavy damage to our needs list.

Here is how I see the evening go:

Round 2: Larry Warford, G, Kentucky

Warford will add a very strong piece next to fellow rookie Travis Frederick.  Both are road-grading walls that can stymie any player they get their hands on.

Drafting Frederick doesn’t stop the bleeding on the interior offensive line but the combination of he and Warford would.

Round 3: Montee Ball, RB, Wisconsin

Ball holds the NCAA record for touchdowns scored.  He is an explosive back that has a knack for making big plays.

In terms of measurables, Ball is middle of the pack but he has good vision and awareness on the field.  He would allow the Cowboys to transition from Demarco Murray moving forward.

com_121213_NCF_Vblog_Dinich_TerrenceWilliams_121213KRound 3: Terrance Williams, WR, Baylor

Williams is a 6’2 burner.  He has great speed and is an attractive option for a team that’s looking for a weapon on the outside to put Miles in the slot.

Williams will need some grooming but he has great ability and could emerge as a real stud in a powerful offense.

Round 4: Jordan Hill, DT, Penn State

The Cowboys still have a need for a 3-technique that could eventually develop into a dominant pass-rusher.

Hill is explosive off the line of scrimmage and can attack quarterbacks through the interior. Hill is a guy who can destroy a pocket but needs to improve as a run defender. Marinelli could develop him into something special.

Round 5: Kyle Juszczyk, FB/TE, Harvard

Juszczyk is one of the best pure football players in the draft. He’s a reliable receiver who blocks extremely well.

He fits the mold of a hard-working, intelligent guy that has position flex. Juszczyk would immediately be a benefit for DeMarco Murray and Monte Ball with his athleticism and strength.

Round 6: Earl Wolff, S, N.C. State

Wolff is an athletic safety with good range and instincts. He could come in during sub-packages and really help the Cowboys.  Eventually, Wolff could challenge for a starting spot but right now the Cowboys are considering depth.

Matt Johnson and Barry Church are going to lock up the safety spots but Wolff is a guy who can develop into a really strong player.
