Your Dallas Cowboys Tight End – Jason Witten

Expert Consensus Ranking: 9
My Ranking: 8

Tim Heitman – US PRESSWIRE

Jason Witten is as solid as they come. He may not have the big games, like Rob Gronkowski or Delanie Walker, but he is still good for 50-plus yards a game. He’ll mix in a near 100 yard game or a touchdown here or there.

The Chicago Bears will be without several players on the defense, including linebacker Danny Trevathan. This should allow Witten some open-space in the middle.

He’s a top 10 fantasy football option at tight end. You can count on him.

Flawless Forecast: Four Catches, 65 yards, and one touchdown

Your Dallas Cowboys Tight End – Geoff Swaim

Cowboys Headlines - Cowboys Sophomores: TE Geoff SwaimI just want to mention one thing about Geoff Swaim… He’s tied at fourth for catches on the team.

He’s nowhere near roster worthy in re-draft leagues or keeper leagues. If you’re in a dynasty league with 14 or more teams and more than 25 roster spots, he could be an interesting roster stash.

With all the talk about the passing of the torch at the quarterback position, we might also be witnessing the future at the tight end position as well.

One to Start – Jacob Tamme (Falcons vs Saints)

Fantasy Football - Fantasy Football Tight End Rankings - Week 3Expert Consensus Ranking: 14
My Ranking: 14

The Atlanta Falcons go to New Orleans this week to face a Saints team that is really good at home on offense.

The Saints defense, however, is still just as atrocious as it was in 2015. This game will be an up and down scoring affair throughout.

In week two, Jacob Tamme led the Atlanta Falcons in targets. Yep, you read that right. Tamme, and not Julio Jones led the Falcons in targets. If he continues to see the eight targets he saw last week, he will have another big day.

Flawless Forecast: Six catches, 90 yards and a touchdown

One to Sit – Eric Ebron (Lions vs Packers)

Expert Consensus Ranking: 8
My Ranking: 12

Eric Ebron is a tight end on the rise in a high-volume passing offense with the Detroit Lions.

The problem with Ebron is that there are three quality targets in front of him. Marvin Jones, Golden Tate, and Theo Riddick are each dynamic pass catchers in their own right and will get plenty of opportunities.

This week, Ebron faces a Green Bay Packers team that is pretty good against tight ends. In week two, the Green Bay defense held Kyle Rudolph to three catches for 31 yards, and a touchdown. I’m avoiding Eric Ebron if I have another option.

Flawless Forecast: Three catches, 40 yards.
