[tps_title]2017 NFL Combine: 5 RB participants to watch for the Dallas Cowboys[/tps_title]
[2/5] Brian Hill, Wyoming (6’0″, 219)
Why he’s on this list: Former Wyoming Cowboy, Brian Hill, is somehow still flying under the radar, but I expect that just change after the performance he puts on at the NFL combine. If I had to pick one running back on this list to become Ezekiel Elliott’s running mate, it would be Hill.
Brian Hill possesses a versatile skill set that could earn him quite a bit of playing time as a rookie, even with a healthy Ezekiel Elliott. He can run the ball inside with power or challenge the edges of the defense with his speed. He is a good receiver out of the backfield and was even split out wide as a receiver during his time at Wyoming. He is also willing to do the dirty work in pass protection, although his technique could use some fine-tuning.
He is a taller RB that is kind of built a little like a big WR. There is still plenty of areas of his game that can be improved upon, but with such a versatile skill set, he could be yet another weapon for the Dallas Cowboys offense.
What to watch for at the NFL combine: Since he is a taller RB, I will be interested to see what is official height/weight is when weighing in at the NFL combine. His height could cause him to struggle little bit in some of the agility drills, so that is one area I will be keeping a close eye on. I also want to see what his time is in the 40 yard dash. He looks like a 4.5 player on game film, but his draft stock could improve immensely if he runs in the 4.4 range.
Brian Hill could end up being a steal for the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round if that’s the direction they decide to go.
